Production of GI coils of ASML is done according to Japanese International Standard JIS G3302, ASTM A653/A65311 or equivalent.
The process starts from pickling of Hot Rolled Coil after which the Coil goes to the Rolling Mill for thickness deformation where HRC becomes Full Hard CRC.
Hot dip galvanizing is the process of coating steel with a layer of zinc by immersing the metal in a bath of molten zinc (coating thickness Z06-Z27) at a temperature of around 400-450°C.
Skin Passing is then done to reduce strain marks and ensure a uniform surface. The coil then goes through Tension leveler which reduces any shape defects and ensures flatness through elongation of steel.
A thin coat of chromate – a rust inhibitor, is then applied to the hot dip galvanized product. The coil is then packed as per the standard.
